F1 2013 True to Life AI

Posted By F1 Fast Lap

Here's a new mod True to Life AI – which corrects numerous issues and notably improves the standard F1 2013 ™ by Codemasters. Thanks to Snthennumbers for this awesome mod.

DESCRIPTION

  • Corrected braking points and cornering speed for the AI across all tracks
  • AI aggression is increased
  • AI retirement rate is more realistic
  • Reduced the "Out of Sight" bug
  • Created a revised tyre wear model giving more individual wear characteristics to each track
  • Increased damage sensitivity for Player and AI
  • Adjusted tyre wear rates for all teams to lower the variation
  • Lowered fuel consumption by 3.5% for all tracks, giving Player (I am assuming this affects the AI too) a little more flexibilty with mix 3
  • Lowered the penalty system's sensitivity towards collisions
  • Enabled 99 flashbacks
  • Safety Car performance has been lowered to allow all cars to catch up to the queue
  • Adjusted engine and gearbox wear rates so the wear on the car feels more tangible over a race weekend
  • Unlocked top 7 teams after the Young Driver's Test (see details in Young Driver's Test Section)
INFO

It is recommended that you do a complete reinstallation (not just a Steam file verification) of the game before installing this mod to ensure there are no leftover components from other mods left behind.

In order to get the best competition against the AI, it is recommended that you make only minor adjustments to your gear ratios and aerodynamics when setting up your car. This is because it is too difficult to create custom car setups for the AI and these 2 setup components give the largest performance advantages over the AI.

This mod will not work with online gameplay.

Graphics:

Included vlasovas’s 2013 tyre mod

AI:
  • Adjusted mistake and failure rates
  • Removed braking early as a mistake event
  • Slowed down the safety car, allowing all AI cars to catch up to the queue
  • Lowered the gap between cars when the Safety Car is on it’s in-lap
  • Lowered AI speed by 1 – 1.5% in wet weather
  • Reduced the "out of sight" bug
loose_parts_settings.xml:

  • Increased damage sensitivity for Player and AI to a more realistic, yet manageable level
Database:

  • Removed global modifiers for each difficulty level in the ai_driver table making driver performance more individualized and personal
  • Various adjustments to individual driver performance
  • Adjusted tyre compounds for Texas and Brazil as per the October 10th Pirelli press release
  • Created a revised tyre wear model which gives more individualized tyre wear per track and fixes issues where tyre wear was too excessive at some tracks (e.g. China, Hungary). This also works for 25%, 50%, and 100% distance races.
  • Various adjustments to tyre wear rates per team as some teams were gaining huge advantages at some tracks (namely tracks where the Medium and Hard compounds are used)
  • Scaled pitstop times per team more appropriately so there wasn’t such a large variation
  • Lowered fuel usage per lap by 3.5% for every track
  • Corrected AI qualifying times during time acceleration across all tracks
  • Lowered penalty system sensitivity towards collisions
  • Added 99 flashbacks

raceload.jpk:

  • Various adjustments to make the engine and gearbox wear more tangible during a race weekend
  • Lowered the required distance before a blowout can occur
Young Driver’s Test:

Made top 7 teams available after the Young Driver’s Test. Author tried making all of them available, but the game didn’t seem to like having more than 6. Invisible tiles would show up and if you went too far right you’d get stuck with no way to back out. The teams Author made available are:

Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes, Lotus, McLaren, Force India, Sauber

  • You must complete day 1 of the YDT in order to unlock top teams

  5. Hey snthennumbers I think your work is absolutely amazing and I'd like to thank you for it!
Now, in my humble opinion this site here (f1fastlap.blogspot.com) is a million times better organized and things are much more explicit and explained than on the website you've originally published your mods (RaceDepartment.com).
Plus, this website doesn't require any stupid login to download any content.
I do respect your position of wanting your files to be hosted at a single place, but since your work is so great, it is only natural people will like to share it and host it elsewhere.
    Cheers dude!
PS: I'm not affiliated with f1fastlap.blogspot.com or any other website, I'm just a happy F1 2013 gamer who appreciates everyones' hardwork and support when they kindly share their creations with the rest of the world. Thank you! :D
